Klink is a German sculptor working in wood, stone, and bronze, born in 1962 in Weil am Rhein and based in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. He's the third generation of a family of sculptors, after his grandfather Wilhelm and father Josef, both of whom made religious sculpture, and he still uses their inherited tools. For years he also worked as a medical technologist in a hospital, a job he's said shaped how closely his figures attend to the human body and its frailty. His bronze pieces, cast at Berlin's Noack Foundry, include Little Embrace and Old Couple, quiet, unshowy works about closeness and age rather than any grand statement.
