Moore, a Queensland-born artist of Kamilaroi and Bigambul (Aboriginal Australian) and British descent, won the Golden Lion for best national participation at the 2024 Venice Biennale, only the second Indigenous artist ever to represent Australia there solo. His winning work, kith and kin, was a hand-drawn chalk family tree covering 60 meters of blackboard-painted walls, tracing over 2,400 generations, with deliberate blank gaps marking where colonization, massacres, and disease had severed the record. The Queensland Art Gallery and Tate jointly acquired the piece in 2024, notably as a set of artist instructions rather than a physical object to be preserved as-is. Away from the studio, Moore also performs as lead singer of the metal band Eggvein.
