Kim, a South Korean sound and light installation artist based in Oslo, holds degrees in aesthetics from Seoul National University and fine art from the University of Bergen, and works largely with immersive, atmospheric installations built around sound. In early 2026, Oslo's MUNCH museum presented her solo show "Shore" as part of its SOLO OSLO series, an installation of moving sound and light inspired by the ocean, weaving together the stories of a North Korean defector and South Korean haenyeo, the free-diving women who've harvested seafood by hand for generations. Her work is held in the Astrup Fearnley Collection, and she's received both the Kistefos Prize and a Sparebankstiftelsen DNB grant.
