Pez, the working name of Barcelona street artist Jose Sabaté, is known almost entirely for one recurring image: a wide, permanently grinning cartoon fish, stamped and painted across walls worldwide since the late 1990s in what he calls the "Barcelona Happy Style." He started tagging around 1999 while still working as a systems technician, and turned to street art full time after losing that job. He appears in Banksy's 2010 documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop" and has exhibited at London's StolenSpace Gallery, collaborating over the years with Banksy, Shepard Fairey, and D*Face.
