Art by Sarfo Emmanuel Annor

Annor, a Ghanaian photographer based in Koforidua who started out shooting on a smartphone before moving to professional equipment, photographs children and young people from his own community against found white walls and bold, primary-colored backdrops, often draped in ceremonial African cloth. He's described his goal directly: showing the world the beauty of Black skin. Still in his early twenties as of his rise to attention, he had his debut solo show at The Bridge Gallery in Paris in 2023 and has shown at the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in Marrakech, earning recognition from i-D Magazine and Aesthetica along the way.
