Art by Sue Graef

Graef, an American painter now based in Florida, has worked for roughly five decades, starting in her teens under the mentorship of her own artist mother, moving from still life through abstraction into her current focus: bold, whimsical paintings of urban, suburban, and rural landscapes, often featuring incongruous details like polka-dotted clothing or bicycles tucked into otherwise ordinary streetscapes. Her work is held in museum, hospital, and private collections both in the US and internationally.
