Emmanuel Perrotin opened his first gallery in Paris in 1990, while barely into his twenties, and built it over three decades into one of the more genuinely global commercial galleries in contemporary art, with spaces now spanning Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Dubai. The gallery is closely associated with artists who move fluidly between fine art and broader pop and street culture, Takashi Murakami and KAWS both among its major represented names, a positioning that has made Perrotin one of the clearer bridges between traditional gallery-world legitimacy and the design, fashion, and collectibles-adjacent audiences that surround artists like these.
