💫Personal Reflection
I have more questions than answers about this one. The round reflector frames the head. What is the meaning (halo, mirror, spotlight)? How do the materials (the smooth headpiece and the hole-punched collar) change the sense of this person’s identity? Everything is so visually pleasing and creative. The face expression however doesn’t give away the answers. It seams serious, but in a heavy way.
About This Artwork
A high-contrast black-and-white studio portrait of a person wearing a sculptural two-tone headpiece and a thick, perforated collar; a large round, textured reflector frames the head like a halo. The image emphasizes texture and shape. Smooth spherical forms against crinkled fabric and foregrounds the sitter’s direct, steady gaze. The staging reads like a ritual or costume portrait that blurs fashion, sculpture and portraiture.
