Personal Reflection
This is where we start to see a shift in the late medieval times, starting to come back to Roman and Greek ideals but still holding on to Byzantine characteristics. Gold leaf halos and background, long noses and small lips are markers of that time, but Giotto started to give his characters more bulk, Mary looking like a weighty queen upon her throne. The angels stand together more accurate than how they were often stack atop one another, there's more use of depth and an attempt at naturalism.
