Still Life with Flowers

Personal Reflection

I kept looking at the flowers that are almost disappearing into the dark. At first the painting feels very rich and full, but the longer I look, the less cheerful it seems. The flowers aren’t arranged perfectly. Some are open, some are drooping, some you can barely see. It feels a little messy and alive. I also love how little light there is. It makes you work to see the painting instead of giving you everything at once. There’s something slightly sad about it. All these flowers at their most beautiful, knowing they won’t stay that way for long.
